PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

Personality is derived from the Latin word ‘Persona’ which referred to the ‘mask worn by the Greek actors on the stage’.

Personality refers to the ‘totality’ (the total picture) of a person. A thorough analysis of the various traits and type of an individual often shows his personality.

CHARACTER VERSUS PERSONALITY

Character refers to the moral aspect of a person, while Personality refers to the total picture of a person. Character is an integral part of personality. Personality includes character and many other aspects of human beings.

All qualities that come under character come under personality. But all qualities and aspects of personality need not come under character.

For example, Honesty is a quality that comes under character as well as the personality of a person. But Intelligence and Resourcefulness are traits that come under personality but they need no come under the character of a person.
